Description
The 3 Ply Surgical Mask is a lightweight, disposable face covering designed to offer effective protection against respiratory droplets, bacteria, and light fluid splashes. It is a critical component in infection control in hospitals, clinics, public spaces, and industrial settings. Proper use includes wearing with clean hands, adjusting the nose clip for a snug fit, and replacing the mask after extended use or exposure.
A 3 ply surgical mask consists of three layers of non-woven fabric, each with a specific function:
1st Layer (Outer Layer):
- Material: Spunbond non-woven fabric
- Function: Water-resistant layer to repel fluid droplets, dust, and external contaminants
2nd Layer (Middle Filter Layer):
- Material: Melt-blown non-woven polypropylene
- Function: Acts as a bacterial and particle filter
-
Traps bacteria, viruses, and other microscopic particles
-
Offers Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE) of ≥ 95% to ≥ 99%, depending on quality
-
3rd Layer (Inner Layer):
- Material: Soft, absorbent spunbond non-woven fabric
- Function: Absorbs moisture from the wearer’s breath, providing comfort and hygiene
