Description

Super Bimix Injection is a compounded intracavernosal (IC) medication formulated for the treatment of moderate to severe erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult males. It is typically used in patients who do not respond adequately to first-line oral phosphodiesterase type-5 (PDE5) inhibitors such as sildenafil, tadalafil, or vardenafil.

Super Bimix contains higher concentrations of two vasoactive agents:

  • Papaverine – 60 mg/mL
A non-specific phosphodiesterase inhibitor that relaxes smooth muscle and increases blood flow.

  • Phentolamine – 2 mg/mL
An alpha-adrenergic blocker that prevents vasoconstriction, enhancing arterial blood inflow into the penis.

Mechanism of Action:

  • Papaverine directly relaxes vascular and trabecular smooth muscle, leading to dilation of cavernosal arteries and increased blood filling in the penile sinusoids.
  • Phentolamine augments the vasodilatory effect by blocking alpha-adrenergic-mediated vasoconstriction.
  • The resulting increase in penile blood volume and trapping of blood within the corpus cavernosum produces an erection.
