Description
Ketoconazole, Fluocinolone Acetonide, Neomycin Sulphate & Menthol Cream is a multi-action topical formulation used to treat fungal skin infections with associated inflammation and bacterial contamination. Ketoconazole is a broad-spectrum antifungal that targets infections like ringworm, jock itch, and candidiasis. Fluocinolone Acetonide, a corticosteroid, helps reduce redness, swelling, and itching, while Neomycin Sulphate provides antibacterial protection against secondary infections. Menthol offers a cooling effect to soothe irritated skin. This cream is applied externally to affected areas and provides fast relief from itching, inflammation, and infection-related discomfort.
Mechanism of Action:
- Ketoconazole: Inhibits fungal cell membrane synthesis by blocking ergosterol production. Effective against dermatophytes and yeasts (e.g., Candida, Malassezia).
- Fluocinolone Acetonide: A medium-potency corticosteroid that reduces redness, itching, swelling, and inflammation.
- Neomycin Sulphate: An aminoglycoside antibiotic that prevents or treats secondary bacterial infections on compromised skin.
