Description
Carbachol Intraocular Solution is a sterile, ophthalmic miotic agent used intraoperatively to induce miosis (pupil constriction) during cataract surgery and other anterior segment procedures. It is primarily used after intraocular lens implantation to help restore normal pupil size, stabilize the anterior chamber, and reduce the risk of postoperative complications such as increased intraocular pressure (IOP).
Carbachol acts by stimulating muscarinic receptors in the eye, leading to constriction of the iris sphincter muscle. It is available in a ready-to-use, preservative-free formulation that is safe for direct intraocular administration.
Indications / Uses:
- Induction of miosis during: Cataract surgery, Intraocular lens implantation and Corneal transplant surgery
