Description
Amoxycillin, Potassium Clavulanate and Lactic Acid Bacillus tablets are a broad-spectrum antibiotic combination used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. The combination includes Amoxycillin, a beta-lactam antibiotic; Potassium Clavulanate, a beta-lactamase inhibitor; and Lactic Acid Bacillus, a probiotic that helps maintain gut flora during antibiotic therapy.
- Amoxycillin is a penicillin-class antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, effective against many gram-positive and some gram-negative bacteria.
- Clavulanate enhances Amoxycillin’s efficacy by inhibiting beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria, thereby expanding the spectrum of activity.
- Lactic Acid Bacillus helps reduce the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhea and restores natural gut microflora disrupted during antibiotic use.
This triple formulation offers both potent antibacterial action and gastrointestinal protection, making it ideal for use in respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin infections, and ENT infections.
Mechanism of Action:
- Amoxycillin binds to penicillin-binding proteins, interfering with cell wall synthesis and causing bacterial lysis.
- Clavulanate protects Amoxycillin from degradation by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria.
- Lactic Acid Bacillus helps repopulate healthy gut bacteria, reducing GI side effects.
Indications:
- Upper and lower respiratory tract infections (e.g., bronchitis, sinusitis, pneumonia)
- Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Dental infections
- Gynecological infections
- Prophylaxis of post-operative infections
