Description
Hydroquinone, Tretinoin & Mometasone Furoate Cream is a triple-combination topical formulation containing Hydroquinone, Tretinoin, and Mometasone Furoate. It is primarily used to treat melasma, hyperpigmentation, and dark patches on the skin. Each component plays a specific role in reducing pigmentation, promoting skin renewal, and minimizing inflammation, making this combination highly effective for short-term use in managing moderate to severe melasma and related conditions.
Mechanism of Action:
- Hydroquinone: Hydroquinone is a skin-lightening agent that works by inhibiting the enzyme tyrosinase, which is necessary for melanin production. This helps reduce pigmentation and lighten dark spots caused by melasma, freckles, and sun damage.
- Tretinoin: Tretinoin is a derivative of vitamin A (retinoid) that promotes cell turnover and exfoliation. It helps remove dead skin cells, allowing healthier, evenly pigmented skin to replace discolored patches. It also enhances the penetration of hydroquinone.
- Mometasone Furoate: Mometasone is a potent corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, redness, and irritation. It helps minimize the irritation that may be caused by hydroquinone and tretinoin while also reducing any inflammatory pigmentation.
Uses:
- Melasma (especially facial melasma)
- Chloasma
- Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH)
- Freckles and age spots
- Uneven skin tone caused by hormonal or sun exposure
