Description

Luliconazole Cream IP 1% is a broad-spectrum antifungal cream designed for the topical treatment of superficial fungal infections of the skin. It is a newer-generation imidazole antifungal with enhanced potency and excellent skin penetration. The cream is smooth, white, and easy to apply, offering once-daily treatment with shorter duration compared to older antifungal agents.

Mechanism of Action:

Luliconazole inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane. By disrupting ergosterol production, the medication compromises cell membrane integrity, leading to fungal cell death. It is fungicidal against dermatophytes and fungistatic against yeasts and molds.

Uses:

Luliconazole Cream is indicated for the topical treatment of:

  • Tinea pedis (athlete’s foot)
  • Tinea corporis (ringworm)
  • Tinea cruris (jock itch)
  • Candidal intertrigo (off-label in some cases)
